CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have swapped undrafted rookie guards on the 53-man roster, placing Brendan Mahon (concussion) on injured reserve and signing Taylor Hearn from the practice squad.
Mahon (pictured above), a Penn State product, played nine special teams snaps over two games early in the season. Hearn was a college standout at Clemson.
The Panthers filled the empty spot on the practice squad with guard Ian Silberman, a guard selected in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the 49ers. The 6-5, 305-pound Silberman was waived by the Raiders earlier this week as a part of a bevy of moves by Oakland that included signing former Panther players C.J. Anderson, Kony Ealy and Bene Benwikere.
