CHARLOTTE — The Panthers have a depth chart at safety now, bringing back a familiar face and solid special teams player.
The team brought back safety Nick Scott on a one-year-deal Saturday.
The 29-year-old Scott came here last year, after a one-year stint with the Bengals. Originally a seventh-round pick out of Penn State, he spent his first four seasons with the Rams, where he won a Super Bowl ring.
He played in 10 games last year, with four starts on defense.
The Panthers added free agent safety Tre'von Moehrig in free agency, but the only other safety on the roster was Demani Richardson.
