CHARLOTTE — The Panthers added some future draft capital Wednesday night, in exchange for a player who hadn't cracked the starting lineup here.
The team has agreed to trade linebacker Denzel Perryman to the Raiders. The deal is pending a physical.
The Panthers will send Perryman and their 2022 seventh-round pick to Las Vegas, for the Raiders' 2022 sixth-rounder.
The Panthers signed the veteran linebacker in free agency this offseason, but he wasn't able to pass Jermaine Carter for the starting job in the middle.
Perryman had recovered from a hip flexor problem which cost him some time in camp, and was out the last two days after a teammate stepped on his foot in practice. He had been a productive player in his first six years with the Chargers, making him a known commodity for his new team.
