CHARLOTTE – The Panthers added some depth and competition to the offensive line room Tuesday, signing tackle Martez Ivey to a one-year deal.
The 25-year-old Ivey was in Patriots camp in 2019, as an undrafted rookie out of Florida. He was a four-year starter for the Gators, playing both tackle and guard. He was twice a second-team All-SEC pick.
In 2020, he was with the XFL's Tampa Bay Vipers before that league folded.
Ivey worked out at Florida's pro day last week, when scouts (and Panthers head coach Matt Rhule) were assembled to check out tight end Kyle Pitts and other prospects.
The Panthers also added a pair of defensive backs Tuesday, signing former South Carolina safety J.T. Ibe, and former Ole Miss cornerback Jalen Julius. Julius went to camp with the Chiefs last summer.
