SPARTANBURG — The Panthers made another addition to the secondary Thursday afternoon.
They signed safety Brian Cole, after working him out following their morning practice.
Cole was a seventh-round pick of the Vikings in 2020 out of Mississippi State. He spent last year on the Dolphins practice squad, but was waived in July.
To make room for him on the roster, the Panthers waived wide receiver Ventell Bryant.
Earlier Thursday, they signed running back Rod Smith. They've added five new players to the roster this week, as they promised to turn over the bottom of the roster during camp to look at as many options as possible.
