CHARLOTTE - The Carolina Panthers today officially re-signed safety Tre Boston to a three-year contract.
Boston, an unrestricted free agent, re-joined the Panthers prior to the 2019 season. Originally a fourth-round pick of Carolina in 2014 from the University of North Carolina, Boston spent his first three seasons as a Panther (2014-16) before spending time with the Los Angeles Chargers (2017) and Arizona Cardinals (2018).
In 2019, Boston started all 16 games, ranking fourth on the team with 76 tackles, while adding three interceptions and 10 passes defensed.
In 2017 with the Chargers, Boston recorded a career-high five interceptions. He then added three interceptions and a career-high 85 tackles with Arizona in 2018.
Since 2017, Boston has 11 total interceptions, tied for the second-most among NFL safeties during that time.
Tre Boston played with Carolina from 2013-16 and then returned in 2019.
