CHARLOTTE — The Panthers have an issue on the offensive line, less than a week before the season opener against the Jets.
The team placed veteran guard John Miller on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
Teams may not disclose whether a player has tested positive for COVID-19 or whether he is quarantining because of a close contact.
Vaccinated players who test positive can rejoin the team, if asymptomatic, with two negative tests 24 hours apart. Unvaccinated players who test positive are out at least 10 days. Vaccinated players who are close contacts can remain in team activities, and are subject to daily testing. Unvaccinated players who are close contacts are out at least five days.
With Miller out for an unspecified amount of time, the Panthers will have to adjust up front.
Dennis Daley's one backup option, along with rookies Brady Christensen and Deonte Brown, while newcomer Michael Jordan still hasn't practiced with the team.
The Panthers also filled out the practice squad Monday, signing three more players.
They added kicker Dominik Eberle, guard Mike Horton, and wide receiver Alex Erickson.
