CHARLOTTE – Defensive tackle Dontari Poe (quad) and left guard Greg Van Roten (foot) have been placed on injured reserve after both suffered season-ending injuries in Sunday's loss to the Saints.
Poe has only missed two games during his eight-year career and Van Roten, a key cog on the O-line, hadn't missed a single snap since the start of the 2018 season (27 consecutive starts).
Poe posted 22 tackles and 4.0 sacks in his second season with Carolina. His 4.0 sacks this season are his most since his 2014 Pro Bowl campaign when he tallied a career-high 6.0 with Kansas City. The former Pro Bowler recorded 17 tackles and one sack in 2018.
With Poe and Van Roten on IR, Carolina signed defensive lineman Stacy McGee, who played in 24 games for Washington from 2017-18, and defensive lineman Woodrow Hamilton, who was with the team through training camp.
McGee, an Oklahoma product, spent the first four years of his career with the Raiders and has played in 75 career games with 29 starts, totaling 116 tackles and four sacks.
