CHARLOTTE — The Panthers are getting a pair of players back on the practice field Wednesday, as they continue to get healthier.
Guard John Miller and defensive end Darryl Johnson were designated to return from injured reserve.
That starts the 21-day clock for them to return to the active roster. They can be activated at any time.
Both went on IR with hamstring injuries in Week 8.
Miller started six games at right guard this season. He missed the opener on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
He started 14 games last year, and adds some depth to a position where injuries have left them short. They had to promote practice squad guard Mike Horton to the active roster last Sunday so they'd have eight linemen up for the game. Trent Scott has been starting there and playing well.
Johnson, who was acquired in a preseason trade with the Bills, has played in two games, primarily on special teams.
