The Carolina Panthers are reshaping their defense. On Friday, the club released corner Dane Jackson.

The Panthers brought back the veteran backup Tuesday, offering stability on and off the field, as he became a trusted mentor for Bryce Young.

The team re-signed the veteran long snapper on Friday, bringing the longest-serving Panthers player back for a 17th season here.

The team is bringing back the kicker who was here during 2023, both during training camp and late in the regular season.

The team signed former Stanford and Washington Commanders wideout Brycen Tremayne to a futures contract on Tuesday.

The team signed former defensive tackle Jerrod Clark to a reserve/future deal on Friday, adding some depth on the line.

The team signed outside linebacker Boogie Basham, a former second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills.

The team also signed defensive end DeShawn Williams to the active roster, and placed outside linebacker Amaré Barno on injured reserve.

The veteran running back will be on the practice field Wednesday, with a chance to return for Sunday's regular season finale.

The team also placed rookie cornerback Chau Smith-Wade on injured reserve prior to Saturday's trip to Tampa Bay.

The Panthers lead running back was diagnosed with a calf strain which would have kept him out of the final two games.
