CHARLOTTE — The Panthers checked off the last major item on their offseason to-do list Tuesday, and they did it in a big way.
The Panthers have signed veteran defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, on a one-year deal.
The 29-year-old Jones gives them the kind of bulk inside they lacked next to Derrick Brown, and a solid starter who will allow them to develop younger players there.
After releasing Kawann Short and Zach Kerr this offseason, defensive tackle was a noticeable void on the depth chart.
Jones, originally a 2014 fourth-round pick of the Titans out of Penn State, has been a reliable starter since 2015.
The 6-foot-4, 322-pounder has only missed four starts the last six seasons, playing every game the last three years.
