CHARLOTTE — The Panthers added another player to the COVID-19 list Sunday morning, a move that will cost them in several areas.
Wide receiver Brandon Zylstra was added to the list Sunday.
The veteran wideout is a key special teams player, and served as their backup kicker last week in Buffalo when Zane Gonzalez was injured in pre-game warmups.
Zylstra has 18 catches for 250 yards and a touchdown this season, and is fifth on the team in special teams tackles.
To replace him on the roster, they elevated wide receiver C.J. Saunders from the practice squad (COVID-19 elevation).
He's the sixth practice-squander they've elevated this week, along with running back Reggie Bonnafon, cornerback Madre Harper, offensive lineman Mike Horton, tight end Stephen Sullivan, and defensive lineman Frank Herron.
The Panthers currently have seven players on the reserve/COVID-19 list, along with one on the practice squad version of the list.
