CHARLOTTE — The Panthers gave some of their key veterans a chance to rest before the long trip to Germany.

Nine players were held out of practice Wednesday as they prepare for the Giants, and six of them carried not injury-related/rest designations.

That group included Jadeveon Clowney (who also had a knee designation), A'Shawn Robinson, Chuba Hubbard, Josey Jewell, Xavier Woods (who also had a shoulder designation), and Jaycee Horn.

The only players missing from practice who didn't get rest designations were Ikem Ekwonu (ankle), Adam Thielen (hamstring), and DeShawn Williams (illness).

Safety Jammie Robinson (knee) was back on a limited basis after missing the last three games, and safety Lonnie Johnson (quadriceps) was also limited.

Otherwise, everyone else on the roster was a full participant on Wednesday.
