NEW ORLEANS — The Panthers will have three tight ends active for Sunday's opener against the Saints, but only because they added Feleipe Franks to the roster on Saturday.

Veteran Tommy Tremble and recent acquisition Messiah Swinson were among the seven players deactivated for the Panthers Sunday.

That leaves Franks to supplement starter Ja'Tavion Sanders and Jordan Matthews today.

They also deactivated safety Jammie Robinson, cornerback Shemar Bartholomew, center Andrew Raym, guard Jarrett Kingston, and defensive end LaBryan Ray.

With Ray down, Saturday addition Jayden Peevy will get a lot of work as the fifth active defensive lineman.
