CHARLOTTE — The Panthers added another veteran pass-rusher, and one they know well.
The team signed outside linebacker Marquis Haynes Sr. to the practice squad on Friday.
Haynes, the team's fourth-round pick in 2018, was in camp briefly this summer with the Cardinals.
He spent his first six seasons here and has 14.0 sacks in 71 career games. His most productive season was 2022, when he had 5.0 sacks, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
He dealt with back problems last season, and was limited to seven games.
The 30-year-old Haynes could eventually offer another experienced alternative to go along with Jadeveon Clowney and Charles Harris as they continue to work with young players, including DJ Johnson.
To make room for him on the practice squad, the team released cornerback Justin Hardee from the practice squad.
