CHARLOTTE— The Carolina Panthers (3-11) are coming off their first two-possession loss since Week 8, after falling to the Cowboys 30-14 on Sunday. They have a week to regroup, before welcoming the Arizona Cardinals (7-7) to town for the final home game of the season.
The Cardinals are coming off a 30-17 win against the Patriots, but that win was on the heels of a three-game losing streak.
The Panthers are 14-6 all-time against the Cardinals. Carolina is 8-4 at home and 6-2 on the road. The Panthers have also faced the Cardinals three times in the playoffs, going 2-1.

Kyler Murray and friends
Kyler Murray is already having his best season since 2021 (both 2022 and 2023 were shortened due to an ACL injury) and is on pace to possibly have one of his top two seasons in the NFL. Through Week 14, Murray has 3,086 yards, with a 15-8 touchdown-interception ratio. Just as, if not more, notable, Murray is second on the Cardinals in rushing, with 455 yards and four touchdowns on 63 carries.
While Murray has always been effective with his legs, over a quarter of his yards this season have come on designed runs. His scramble rate, relative to drop backs, is 7.4 percent, for 301 yards, a number that stands out against other passers in the league, but is in the mid-tier of Murray's career.
When Murray keeps the ball in the air, his favorite target is actually his tight end. Third-year tight end Trey McBride is the Cardinals leader in receptions (89), targets (116), yards (938) and yards per game (72.2).
It's the rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. though who has become the touchdown target. While he is coming off a game with only two receptions, Harrison Jr. still leads all Cardinals receivers with seven touchdowns.
Superman James Conner
The bulk of the Cardinals offense runs through James Conner. Taking into account all of Arizona's offensive snaps thus far this season, Conner has touched the ball on 48.9 percent of them. Let's call it half.
The veteran back has 217 carries for 973 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground, plus 41 receptions for 361 yards and another score through the air. According to Next Gen Stats, Conner forced 68 missed tackles in the first 10 weeks of the season.
Defense without two guys
On back-to-back plays Sunday against the Patriots, the Cardinals lost two linebackers: Mack Wilson and Jesse Luketa. The former was due to a concussion, which will keep him in protocol this week, and the latter a thigh injury. Both will be ones to watch on the injury report during the week.
While Arizona could be without two guys in the front seven, they still have a stalwart secondary, anchored by Budda Baker. The safety is second in the NFL in total tackles with 142 total. He is one of only two secondary players in the top 25 of total tackles. another Cardinals in the Top 25? Linebacker Kyzir White, who is 17th overall with 111 total tackles.
And while no Cardinals players have double digit passes defensed, Sean Murphy-Bunting and Garrett Williams both boast two interceptions.
Carolina is 14-6 all-time against the Cardinals, including a 2-1 record in the playoffs.
