PHILADELPHIA — Running back Jonathon Brooks left the game in the first quarter with a right injury, and has already been ruled doubtful to return for the rest of the game.
[UPDATE: Just after the start of the second half, the team announced that Brooks was downgraded to out for the rest of the game.]
Brooks went down on a non-contact play late in the first quarter after taking a handoff.
His season was late getting started because of a torn ACL suffered last November at Texas. He made his debut after the bye week three weeks ago against the Chiefs.
Brooks limped toward the sideline after the play but wasn't putting weight on his right leg. After they got him to the sideline and the blue medical tent, he was carted to the locker room.
He walked to the cart under his own power and sat in the front passenger seat but was obviously upset as he was taken back.
The injury leaves the Panthers with one healthy running back in uniform, starter Chuba Hubbard.
Reserve running back and return man Raheem Blackshear left the game with a chest injury and has been ruled out the rest of the day. Miles Sanders is on injured reserve.
