DENVER — A look inside the numbers from Sunday's 28-14 loss against the Denver Broncos.

  • On the opening drive against the Broncos, defensive tackle Shy Tuttle forced and recovered a fumble, giving the Panthers the ball in Denver territory. It was only the second fumble recovery of his career, and the first forced fumble during his six years in the league.
  • On the Broncos final drive of the game (save the one play kneel down drive), Tuttle recovered his second fumble of the game, bringing his career total to three.
  • The two fumble recoveries in a game tied a team record for the most opponent fumble recoveries in a game. It's been previously accomplished nine times, most recently by Jeremy Chinn at Minnesota (11/29/20).
  • With 56 rushing yards, Chuba Hubbard moved to 2,573 for his career, and passed Tshimanga Biakabutuka (2,530) for sixth on the team's all-time rushing list. Up next is DeShaun Foster at 3,336.
  • Rookie wide receiver Jalen Coker caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Bryce Young on the Panthers final offensive drive of the game. It was Coker's first touchdown of his NFL career.
  • Coker is the first undrafted free agent in franchise history who was initially signed into the league by the Panthers and caught a touchdown in his rookie season. Receiver Brenton Bersin, a UDFA initially signed by the Panthers, caught a touchdown pass in his first active season, 2014, but spent the the previous season on the practice squad and was cut before the final roster in 2012.
  • Coker is also the first UDFA receiver initially signed by Carolina to catch a touchdown pass in a game since Damiere Byrd, who caught two in 2017 (his third year in the league).
  • On the Panthers opening drive, Young threw a touchdown pass to receiver Xavier Legette to take the first lead of the game. It was the first opening drive TD of Young's career, in his 19 starts.
  • Young finished the game going 24-37 for 224 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. The yardage total was his highest since Week 16 of the 2023 season against the Packers.
  • According to Next Gen Stats, Young generated a season-high 38.1% dropback success rate against the Broncos.
  • Young saw most of his success against man coverage in this matchup, completing 8 of 12 passes for 82 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception. His +18.5% completion percentage over expected against man is his highest rate in a game with multiple such attempts in his career (16/25, 142, INT, +0.9% CPOE against zone coverage).
  • Defensive lineman A'Shawn Robinson finished with two sacks. They are the first of the season for Robinson, and the first multi-sack game of his career.
  • Rookie safety Demani Richardson got his first start of the season on Sunday. He finished with a team high 11 tackles.
  • Linebacker Josey Jewell and corner Mike Jackson tied for 10 tackles (second highest). It was the first double-digit tackle game of the year for Jackson, and the second for Jewell, who was returning after missing three weeks with a hamstring injury.

  • Injuries forced them into a different look on the offensive line. For the final drive, when they were in two-minute, veteran center Cade Mays came in, and Brady Christensen kicked out to left tackle.
  • With the receiving group muddled by the absences of Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen, David Moore got the most snaps of the group. Moore is a known commodity surrounded by young players, so that makes sense. But Jalen Coker, the undrafted rookie, got the next-most of the group.
  • On National Tight Ends Day, Tommy Tremble returned to get most of the work (61 percent), followed by Ja'Tavion Sanders (36 percent), with Ian Thomas (28 percent) rounding out the group.
