CHARLOTTE -- Head coach Ron Rivera said he expects quarterback Kyle Allen to start against the Jaguars in Week 5.
If so, this will be the third straight missed game for Cam Newton, who is recovering from a foot injury.
"If we're going forward right now, Kyle is going to start," Rivera said during his press conference on Monday. "I would expect Kyle to start right now based on the information I have."
The Panthers have won two straight to improve to 2-2, with road wins over the Cardinals and Texans. The Jaguars also come into this matchup with a 2-2 record.
