CHARLOTTE – Linebacker/safety Jeremy Chinn and defensive tackle Derrick Brown on Tuesday were named to the Pro Football Writers Association (PFWA) All-Rookie team.
Chinn led all NFL rookies with 116 tackles and became the first rookie since 2000 with two defensive touchdowns, more than 100 tackles, and at least one forced fumble, a fumble recovery, sack, interception, and tackle for loss. He also became the first Panthers' player to win back-to-back NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month awards.
Brown finished with 34 total tackles and 2.0 sacks. His eight tackles for loss ranked third among all rookies, while his 20 solo tackles led all rookie defensive tackles.
Carolina was the only team that placed two players on the All-Rookie defensive team.
