Inside-the-Numbers_WK4_vsCIN

CHARLOTTE— A look inside the numbers from Sunday's 34-24 loss against the Bengals.

  • In the second quarter, quarterback Andy Dalton threw his 250th career passing touchdown to receiver Xavier Legette.
  • Dalton's second touchdown of the day came in the third quarter, a 21-yard pass to receiver Diontae Johnson. On that touchdown to Johnson, Dalton tied Drew Bledsoe for the 24th-most passing touchdowns in NFL history.
  • Dalton completed 25-of-40 passes against the Bengals for 220 yards and two touchdowns. On the season, he has completed 51-of-78 passes for 539 yards with five touchdowns and one interception, good for a 101.4 passer rating.
  • RB Chuba Hubbard scored his first rushing touchdown of the season and second total in the second quarter, capping an 11 play, 70-yard drive (5:34). This marked the 15th total touchdown of his career.
  • In the third quarter, Hubbard had a 38-yard carry. That marked a new career-long. His rush set up a Panthers touchdown four plays later.
  • Hubbard finished the day with 18 carries for 104 yards with one touchdown and four catches for 17 yards. This marked his fifth 100-rushing yard game of his career and second in a row. This is also the first time in Hubbard's career that he has had consecutive 100-yard rushing games.
  • Johnson finished the day with seven catches for 83 yards with one touchdown, his second-straight week leading all Panthers receivers.
  • Legette scored the first touchdown of his career, catching an 8-yard pass from Andy Dalton in the second quarter.
  • Xavier Woods picked off Bengals QB Joe Burrow in the fourth quarter for his first interception of the season and 11th of his career, setting up a Panthers field goal. His 33-yard return was the longest of his career.
  • Woods led the team with 10 total tackles (seven solo), marking the fifth time in his career that he has recorded 10 or more tackles in a single game. He also added one interception, one pass defensed and one tackle for loss, the tenth of his career.
  • The Panthers defense allowed just eight rushing yards in the first quarter, their fewest allowed this season and their fewest since they allowed no rushing yards to the Dolphins in Week 6 of 2023. This marks the Panthers third-consecutive week allowing a season-low in rushing yards in the first quarter. They also allowed a season-low 49 total yards in the first quarter.
  • The Panthers defense held the Bengals to 11 rushing yards in the first half, their fewest since Week 14 of the 2022 season against the Seahawks. This also marked the Bengals fewest first-half rushing yards this season.
  • Kicker Eddy Piñeiro drilled a 48-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, his longest of the season. With the kick, he extended his streak of successful field goals at Bank of America Stadium to 33, the second-longest streak in franchise history (Gano-41) and the longest active streak for a kicker in their home stadium league wide.
