CHARLOTTE -- A 63-yard game-winning field goal in the final seconds? Yeah, that's going to earn you Player of the Week honors.
Panthers kicker Graham Gano was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after his heroic performance against the Giants. In addition to his game-winner, which tied the longest game-winning kick in NFL history and was a franchise record, Gano converted three other field goals (47, 47 and 39 yards out) along with three extra points in the thrilling 33-31 victory.
Gano is 7-for-7 on field goals to start the 2018 season. A Pro Bowler last year, Gano has converted 36 consecutive field goal attempts at home, which dates back to the 2016 season. Gano's 24 straight field goals ranks as the longest active streak in the NFL.
Over the last two seasons, Gano has only missed one field goal in the regular season for a percentage of 97.6, best in the NFL.
