Gameday inactives: P.J. Walker down, Will Grier to serve as backup QB

CHARLOTTE — Quarterback PJ Walker is inactive for the Panthers Week 1 matchup against the Raiders, which means Will Grier will serve as Carolina's backup quarterback on Sunday.

Head coach Matt Rhule has said the No. 2 quarterback could change from week to week.

The Panthers have only two tight ends active for Sunday's game, as Colin Thompson inactive.

Newcomers cornerback Rasul Douglas and offensive lineman Trent Scott are both active, though defensive end Shareef Miller is not. All three players were claimed off waivers to start the week.

Left guard Dennis Daley (ankle) was declared out on Friday. Michael Schofield will start at left guard in his place.

With eight offensive linemen in uniform, the Panthers have 48 players active for Sunday's contest.

Below is the full list of inactives for both teams. Kickoff is set for 1 o'clock on CBS.
