In the final stages of Monday's last practice before a day off, Torrey Smith came down on Ross Cockrell's left leg, causing a fractured tibia and fibula. Cockrell will undergo surgery and is expected to miss the 2018 season. The injury to Cockrell was the second major blow to the Panthers in the last three days after right tackle Daryl Williams dislocated his patella on Saturday.
