CHARLOTTE— He is him.
Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton has won the "Himmy"Award for Week 3, after leading the Panthers to a 36-22 win over the Raiders.
The award is given out by Scott Van Pelt, host of SVP and Monday Night Countdown. Each week, Van Pelt will send the winner a trophy, commemorating their performance that week that made them "Him."
Other nominees for Week 3 were running back Derrick Henry (Ravens), quarterback Malik Willis (Packers) and receiver Malik Nabers (Giants). Dalton's recognition comes after a performance in Las Vegas that saw him go 26-37 for 319 yards and three passing touchdowns (the only NFL quarterback to post 300-plus yards and three passing touchdowns yet this season) in his first start in a year.
Teammates presented Dalton with the trophy (sent by Van Pelt and MNF) in the locker room on Friday. As a horde of offensive players mobbed the QB in celebration, demanding a speech, Dalton simply said, "it's all y'all, it's all y'all, it's not me."
Dalton will face the team that drafted him, the Cincinnati Bengals, on Sunday for Week 4.
