Charged with the vision and integration of all aspects of football and business operations that contribute to the holistic athlete experience, Winston focuses on the implementation of new long-term initiatives throughout player development and the identification of under-resourced but potentially fruitful areas for strategic development to create personal and competitive advantages for the team, its players, and their ecosystem.
Prior to joining the Panthers, Winston served on the football operations staff for the National Football League office for the last two years, spent 15 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons in their player affairs department, serving as the vice president of the department for five. Prior to Atlanta, he spent five seasons with the New York Jets as the vice president of player development and four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the director of player development.
Winston's departments have twice been honored by the NFL, first as the Most Outstanding Player Development Department with the Jets (2003-04) and later as the Outstanding Career Development Program with the Falcons (2008).
