Dan Morgan was named President of Football Operations/General Manager on January 22, 2024. Morgan previously served as the team's assistant general manager for three seasons (2021-23).
A former Panthers first-round pick (2001), he returned (May 2021) to the club after 10 plus seasons in NFL front offices.
Prior to re-joining Carolina, Morgan spent three years (2018-20) with the Bills as director of player personnel. While with Buffalo, the team made two playoff appearances, including a trip to the AFC Championship.
Morgan's front office experience started in Seattle (2010). In his second season with the Seahawks, he was named assistant director of pro personnel, a position he held for four seasons (2011-14) including their Super Bowl XLVIII victory. Later promoted to director of pro personnel (2015), he was responsible for guiding the pro and advance scouting efforts for the club.
Selected 11th overall by Carolina in the 2001 NFL Draft, Morgan played seven seasons for the Panthers (2001-07), and tallied 390 tackles and 11 takeaways. Selected to the Pro Bowl (2004) after posting a single-season high 102 tackles, he concluded that season with 25 tackles in Su- per Bowl XXXVIII, a franchise postseason record.
Inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame (2021), Morgan became the first player to be named captain as a sophomore at the University of Miami (Fla.). He won the Nagurski Trophy, the Butkus and Bednarik Awards (2000), becoming the first player in NCAA history to win all three in a career, while he also earned All-America hon- ors and was named the 2000 Big East Player of the Year.
Morgan is a native of Clifton Heights, PA. He and his wife, Ashleigh, have three children, Lexi, Brady and Cali.
