The Carolina Panthers/Harris Teeter Character All-Star Awards Banquet kicks off at Bank of America Stadium in true Hollywood style.

Character All-Star award winners grace the red carpet and are welcomed by team mascot Sir Purr and screaming paparazzi.

Elizabeth Anne Smith of Alexander Graham Middle knows a lot about Moral Character. She raised more than $12,000 for Susan G. Komen in support of her mother's battle against breast cancer.

Chris Draft, Panthers alumni and founder of the Chris Draft Family Foundation, delivers an engaging keynote address on the impact of young people who demonstrate good character.

Danna Jones, communications specialist with Harris Teeter, poses with Chris Draft and Alexa Cooper. Students were honored for Intellectual Character, Moral Character, Performance Character and Civic Character.

Civic Character All-Stars Ashley Bowman, Nathalie Altamirano and Megan Moore of Rocky River High School pose with Chris Draft. The girls were recognized for their efforts on behalf of breast cancer research.

Chris Draft visits with Susanna Pradhan, a Performance Character Award Winner from Eastway Middle School. Up until two years ago, Susanna was living in a Nepalese refugee camp. Now she is a straight-A student.

Bethany Dobson of Ballantyne Elementary was awarded in the Performance Character category for her incredible perseverance.

Jonathan Traverso of Community House Middle School was honored at the banquet as a true hero. When his home caught on fire earlier this year, Jonathan safely helped everyone out and called 911.

Sarah Hanson is a Special Education Teacher at East Mecklenburg High and was one of two winners in the Faculty & Staff category.
