CHARLOTTE — Panthers kicker Zane Gonzalez came through in a big way last week, and was rewarded for it Wednesday morning.
Gonzalez was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week, after a perfect day in Atlanta.
The 26-year-old kicker hit all four of his field goal attempts, including a career best 57-yarder in the 19-13 win over the Falcons. That was also the second-longest field goal in Panthers franchise history.
Gonzalez also had a 51-yarder in Atlanta, and belted four of his five kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks.
It was just the fourth time in Panthers franchise history a player hit two field goals of 50 yards or longer in the same game.
Since joining the Panthers in Week 2, he's 13-of-15 on field goals, and 13-of-14 extra points.
