CHARLOTTE -- Wide receiver Curtis Samuel (shoulder) did not practice on Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Tennessee.
But head coach Ron Rivera fully expects Samuel to play.
"Truly a precautionary thing," head coach Ron Rivera said. "We just want to make sure with him."
Edge rusher Mario Addison was back home all week in advance of his brother's funeral Friday. On Saturday, the team officially ruled Addison as out for Sunday's game.
Edge rusher Christian Miller (ankle) was a limited participant all week, and was listed as questionable. Rivera indicated it might be another week before the rookie is able to make his return. Miller has not played since suffering a high-ankle sprain against the Jaguars in Week 5.
"He's come along slowly," Rivera said. "We'll get a good update on him tomorrow."
As for quarterback Cam Newton's visit to see a foot specialist in Green Bay, Rivera feels for him.
"You know him, he's anxious. No one really knows the timetable," Rivera said. "The biggest thing we want to do is support him, be there for him, and hopefully, when he's 100 percent we can move forward."
