Power Home Solar has been creating commercials featuring NFL teams, and they approached All-Pro center Ryan Kalil about playing a starring role for Carolina's rendition. But Kalil, who has his own production company, decided to apply his talents as director.
Kalil invited comedian/actor Ryan O'Flanagan, a passionate Panthers fan and good friend, to play the main character. Several teammates, including linebacker Luke Kuechly and wideout Curtis Samuel, make appearances in the commercial, which was filmed recently at Bank of America Stadium.
"This is what Ryan wants to do," Kuechly said, "and to have the opportunity to be in something that he's doing I think is a cool deal."
