CHARLOTTE – The Panthers will face a quartet of AFC opponents in the preseason, opening with a pair of road games before closing with two home games.
The NFL is expected to release the regular season schedule later this month.
DAY | DATE | OPPONENT | LOCATION | TIME |
Thu. | Aug. 11 | at Baltimore Ravens | M&T Bank Stadium | 7:30 p.m. |
Sat. | Aug. 20 | at Tennessee Titans | LP Field | 3 p.m. |
Fri. | Aug. 26 | vs. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS | Bank of America Stadium | 7:30 p.m. |
Thu. | Sept. 1 | vs. PITTSBURGH STEELERS | Bank of America Stadium | 7:30 p.m. |
The reigning NFC champion Panthers will begin with trips to Baltimore and Tennessee before returning home to face New England and Pittsburgh. All of the opponents are common preseason ones for the Panthers outside of the Titans. The teams have met just once in the preseason (2010), and this will mark Carolina's first preseason trip to Nashville.
As was the case last year, the Panthers will face the perennially strong Patriots in the third game, when teams typically play their starters the longest. This will mark the 14th consecutive season the Panthers and Steelers have met in the final preseason game. All games will be televised on the Panthers Television Network and re-aired on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel throughout the Carolinas.
The Panthers are 41-44 in preseason games. Carolina finished at least .500 in the preseason in each of its seven playoff seasons, including a 3-1 mark last year.
