CHARLOTTE – The Carolina Panthers will play four AFC opponents during the 2014 preseason, with a primetime, nationally televised meeting against the Kansas City Chiefs at Bank of America Stadium headlining the four-game slate.
The Panthers open the preseason with a home game versus the Buffalo Bills before facing the Chiefs on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 8 p.m. on FOX. Carolina then travels to New England to take on the Patriots in Week 3. The preseason concludes with a trip to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers – the 12th consecutive season the two teams have met in the preseason finale.

The Panthers are 36-41 in preseason games. Carolina finished at least .500 in the preseason in each of its five playoff seasons, including a 3-1 mark last year.
The NFL is expected to release the regular season schedule later this month.
