CHARLOTTE — The Panthers waived another player and added back to the practice squad Wednesday morning.
The team waived defensive tackle Nick Thurman, opening another spot on the 53-man roster.
Thurman played in all nine games this season with four starts after appearing in all 17 games last year.
The Panthers also signed wide receiver Cam Johnson and safety Alex Cook to the practice squad. Cook has been here parts of this season and last. Johnson, an undrafted rookie from Northwestern, spent some time in Cowboys camp this offseason.
Coupled with Tuesday's trade of wide receiver Jonathan Mingo and waiving linebacker Jacoby Windmon, the Panthers have four open roster spots heading into the practice week, but a number of players are approaching their returns, including rookie running back Jonathon Brooks.
