CHARLOTTE - The Carolina Panthers and Spectrum Networks have renewed a multi-year agreement to air Panthers programming and live preseason games on Spectrum News channels across North Carolina.

Spectrum News North Carolina, the official cable TV home of the Panthers, will kick off its Panthers-related programming August 7 with the season's first "Panther Talk" show at 7:30 pm ET.

In addition to live preseason games, the Panthers and WCNC will simulcast the popular Sunday night highlight show "Panthers Game Day" on Spectrum in North Carolina and will feature a second half-hour of live team coverage exclusively for Spectrum viewers. The Panthers will also provide Spectrum News viewers with an exclusive re-air video simulcast of its weekly "Panther Talk" radio show on Mondays from Bank of America Stadium.

"Having multiple distribution channels for our top TV programming provides additional viewing options for our growing regional fan base to follow the Panthers throughout the season," said Phil Youtsey, the Panthers' executive director of ticketing and sponsorship. "Spectrum News North Carolina's statewide footprint made them an ideal choice for increasing fan access to our most high-profile shows."

Added Alan Mason, Spectrum News South Group vice president: "Carolina Panthers football has been a key element of Spectrum News' statewide sports programming for years, and we're excited to expand that coverage through our renewed partnership with the team. As the official cable TV home of the Panthers, we'll have more in-depth coverage of the players, coaches and games that Panthers fans can only get on Spectrum News.

"We look forward to continuing to connect the Panthers with fans and viewers in communities across North Carolina."

Lee H. Berke, President and CEO of LHB Sports, Entertainment & Media, Inc., assisted the Panthers in renewing the agreement.
