CHARLOTTE – The Panthers signed wide receiver Avius Capers to fill the last spot on the 90-man roster.
Capers, a Charlotte native who played collegiately at Johnson C. Smith, was with Carolina in training camp last year as an undrafted free agent. He most recently spent time in the Canadian Football League.
Capers becomes the 12th wide receiver on the roster, joining Fozzy Whittaker, Devin Funchess, Ted Ginn, Jr., Philly Brown, Brenton Bersin, Stephen Hill, Kevin Norwood, Damiere Byrd, Cobi Hamilton, Keyarris Garrett and Miles Shuler.
