ORLANDO, Fla. - The Carolina Panthers have been named the Pop Warner NFL Team of the Year. The team was recognized at Pop Warner's national scholastic banquet for its ongoing efforts and innovative programming in support of youth football.
Panthers Director of Community Relations Riley Fields accepted the award before an audience of 2,000 Pop Warner Scholastic All-Americans, their families and Pop Warner administrators.
"Supporting youth football at the grassroots level is a priority for the Carolina Panthers," Fields said. "The team's roots run deep with Pop Warner chapters in our region, and youth football outreach has always been a big part of the Panthers' community service efforts.
"We are grateful for the time, energy and effort that coaches, parents and volunteers provide the thousands of Pop Warner players and cheer squad members in our region so that they may enjoy the great game of football."
