!Fans have a new way to follow the Panthers with the launch of the team's official smartphone app. The Carolina Panthers official app will enhance the gameday and year-round experience for fans at Bank of America Stadium, at home or on the go.
"Our goal is to give fans the best experience possible whenever they interact with the team," said Henry Thomas, Carolina Panthers director of broadcasting and new media. "The Carolina Panthers official app is another way for fans to engage with us and be a part of the action 24 hours a day, seven days a week."
The app provides access to news, real-time team and player statistics, roster, depth chart, injury report, schedule, standings, out-of-town scores, fantasy football information and photo galleries. Future enhancements will include video access for fans at Bank of America Stadium and other in-stadium elements.
Users will also be connected to the Panthers social media community on Twitter and Facebook. with one-click tweeting and Facebook posting, in addition to Foursquare and Gowalla connectivity. On gameday, fans can stay current with the official @Panthers Twitter feed along with updates from @NFL, @NFLnetwork and @PanthersSirrPurr.
Developed in partnership with leading sports team app developer YinzCam, Inc., the app currently is compatible with iPhones and iPods running iOS 4.0 or higher, Android devices running Android 2.1 or higher, and BlackBerry devices.
