Here's where the Panthers stand in various power rankings following their Week 7 loss to the Chicago Bears.

NFL.com

Panthers rank: 16th (9th in NFC)
Previous rank: 5th

NFC South: Saints 8th, Panthers 16th, Falcons 19th, Buccaneers 27th
This week's opponent: Buccaneers 27th

Beyond the numbers: Elliot Harrison thinks the Panthers are the most maddening team in the NFL to watch. He says they're wildly inconsistent and with Cam Newton's experience and talent, his valley's of lows are awfully low. Mitch Trubisky attempted seven passes and his team won by two scores.

ESPN.com

Panthers rank: 19th (10th in NFC)
Previous rank: 6th

NFC South: Falcons 12th, Saints 14th, Panthers 19th, Buccaneers 23rd
This week's opponent: Buccaneers 23rd

Beyond the numbers: The ESPN staff points out that the Panthers have only played one NFC South game. The next two weeks offer the Buccaneers and Falcons. If Carolina is going to bounce back, these next two weeks would be an opportune time to do it.

CBS Sports

Panthers rank: 17th (9th in NFC)
Previous rank: 4th

NFC South: Saints 7th,  Falcons 11th, Panthers 17th, Buccaneers 26th
This week's opponent: Buccaneers 26th

Beyond the numbers: Pete Prisco notes that this upcoming game with the Buccaneers is a survival test.

Yahoo Sports

Panthers rank: 13th (8th in NFC)
Previous rank: 4th

NFC South: Saints 8th, Falcons 9th, Panthers 13th, Buccaneers 27th
This week's opponent: Buccaneers 27th

Beyond the numbers: Frank Schwab uses the Panthers as an example of how teams can change week to week. Carolina started the season slow, then looked like they were coming on. Losing to the Eagles isn't bad, but losing to the Bears was. It's not easy to lose by two touchdowns to a team that completed four passes.

Bleacher Report

Panthers rank: 8th (5th in NFC)
Previous rank: 3rd

NFC South: Saints 7th, Panthers 8th, Falcons 14th, Buccaneers 27th
This week's opponent: Buccaneers 27th

Beyond the numbers: Chris Simms says the Panthers weren't outplayed by the Bears, but they did make costly mistakes. They should've been able to win a defensive struggle, especially when Trubisky only completed four passes. All in all, Simms still believes the Panthers are one of the top teams in the NFC and isn't ready to jump the ship yet.
