There is a new contest on Panthers.com that is giving North Carolina high school football programs a chance to "Wear it like a Pro," on the football field.
For the second straight year, the Panthers teamed up with Blue Cross NC to offer the #WEARITLIKEAPRO program, where one high school football program is selected from each of the four classifications (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A) based on the number of vote clicks the school receives on www.panthers.com/fans/wearitlikeapro.
The winning schools receive 24 premium, brand new Riddell SpeedFlex helmets – the same models worn by the team.
"The Carolina Panthers are strong supporters of football played at the grassroots level in our region," said Riley Fields, Carolina Panthers director of community relations. "We are pleased to partner again with Blue Cross NC on this important program, which will provide new equipment that will enhance player safety while also assisting resource-challenged athletic departments."
Voting is open from September 3 through October 15, and fans are encouraged to use the hashtag #WEARITLIKEAPRO to drum up engagement.
"High school football is part of the fabric of North Carolina and an important part of local communities," said Reagan Greene Pruitt, Blue Cross NC vice president of marketing and community engagement. "Blue Cross NC is thrilled to help give area high schools the opportunity to win these great helmets to enhance their programs."
