Join linebackers Jon Beason and James Anderson and wide receiver Armanti Edwards for a special Panther Talk to benefit Classroom Central on Monday, Dec. 13 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in the Red Zone at Bank of America Stadium.
The event is open to the public and admission is free, but donations of school supplies or money for Classroom Central are encouraged. Classroom Central is a non-profit store where area teachers can obtain materials free of charge for their students in need. Items in high demand are pencils, paper, colored markers, colored pencils, glue sticks and scissors.
Each fan who contributes to Classroom Central will receive a ticket good for an autograph from each player and be entered into a raffle to win great prizes perfect for the ultimate Panthers fan.
The doors will open at 6 p.m., with live music beginning at 6:30 p.m. from Charlotte party band Mick and the Ultras - featuring Panthers Radio Network play-by-play announcer Mick Mixon on the drums. Panther Talk will follow from 8:05 to 9 p.m. After the show, Mick and the Ultras will conclude the evening with an encore performance.
Sir Purr and TopCats also will be appearing. Fans can park in the Morehead Street parking lot, and food and beverages will be available from the Red Zone Market Express.
"This night will have something for everybody," said Henry Thomas, the Carolina Panthers director of broadcasting and new media. "Classroom Central is such an awesome charity, and the Panthers are honored to help them in their fundraising efforts."
"This comes at a great time for us," said Janice Booth, Classroom Central executive director. "When school starts again after the holidays there is always a tremendous need for supplies among lower income families in the Charlotte region. The awareness we'll generate and the funds we'll raise at Panther Talk will be a huge help."
Panther Talk is a live, 55-minute radio program with Panthers head coach John Fox and a player guest that is hosted by Mixon and Panthers Radio Network color commentator Jim Szoke.
