CHARLOTTE - Cam Newton is well aware of the close losses the Panthers have suffered at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks in recent seasons, but he's not wringing his hands over them.
"We're not dwelling on the past," Newton said. "It's a different season, different teams. We're just focusing on things we do in practice, just working to win a football game."
The Panthers dropped regular season meetings to the Seahawks each of the last three seasons by a total of 13 points. Last year in the NFC Division Playoff, Carolina trailed 14-10 heading into the fourth quarter before falling 31-17 to a Seattle team that advanced to the Super Bowl for the second consecutive season.
"They're a pretty good team that has been extremely successful in the postseason the last couple of seasons, yet those are old statistics," Newton said. "We're eager to face them on Sunday."
