Little Purrs Newborn Club celebrates "birth" of the team

There is no better way to celebrate the anniversary of the Carolina Panthers' founding than welcoming its newest fans, who share the team's birthday, into the world on this special day.

The Panthers Little Purrs Newborn Club donated Panthers blankets from their membership program to Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte for every child born today to celebrate the team's Founder's Day, October 26, 1993. The Newborn Club wanted to ensure that all the babies born on the team's anniversary become Panthers fans for life.

The club also visited the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that provides special long-term care for infants in need.

"The blankets were laid across basinets, used to swaddle little ones that were only a couple hours old and provided comfort to new parents," said Panthers marketing manager Kalen Karahalios before thanking the hospital. "Through our partnership with Carolinas HealthCare System, we are thrilled for the opportunity to bring more Panthers fans into the world, just as the team did 24 years ago today."

The event was a resounding success among Levine's doctors and nurses, and brought a little extra warmth to the recipient families on their already special day.

The Little Purrs Newborn Club is the official fan club for the youngest Panthers fans ages three and under. A Little Purrs membership includes age-appropriate exclusive Panthers gear, a commemorative birth certificate and exciting opportunities for special events.  For more information, please visit the Little Purrs Newborn Club page or call 704-358-7479 to sign your Little Purr up today!
