Mock drafters have spent the last couple of months identifying a variety of offensive and defensive linemen that the Panthers could select with the 16th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
When the pretend picks finally give way to the ones that matter, they'll be plenty of linemen lined up in the green room.
Ten of the 23 players who have accepted invitations from the NFL to attend the opening night of the draft April 25 in Nashville are linemen – six defensive linemen and four offensive linemen. The list includes mock draft favorites Montez Sweat and Brian Burns on defense and Andre Dillard and Jonah Williams on offense. It doesn't include Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell or N.C. State center Garrett Bradbury.
Since the Panthers selected Cam Newton with the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, defensive tackle Vernon Butler in 2016 is the only Panthers first-round pick that was in the green room.
Three quarterbacks, three linebackers, two defensive backs, two tight ends (both from Iowa), two wide receivers and one running back are also slated to attend. Here's this year's full list:
