CHARLOTTE -- Greg Olsen is officially questionable for Sunday's game at Washington, but head coach Ron Rivera said the tight end would have been listed as probable if that injury report designation still existed.
Olsen hasn't played since injuring his foot in the season opener. He was a full practice participant on Thursday and Friday and appears ready to return.
"He ran around really well. We're pretty excited about it," Rivera said. "We'll see how everything pans out."
Linebacker Thomas Davis has been added to the 53-man roster following his four-game suspension to start the season. Davis takes the roster spot freed up when linebacker Jared Norris (toe) was placed on injured reserve Friday.
Wide receiver Damiere Byrd (ankle) and linebacker Andre Smith (hamstring) are out after both played last week. Rivera said that rookie receiver DJ Moore would be first up as punt returner with Byrd out, with fellow wideout Curtis Samuel and running back Christian McCaffrey waiting in the wings.
Carolina is 7-10 against Washington all-time in the regular season.
