CHARLOTTE -- Wide receiver Devin Funchess (back) was a full participant at Friday's practice and he's officially questionable for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. Funchess was injured during Carolina's loss to Detroit and did not play last week against Seattle.
Head coach Ron Rivera said "probable" would be a more accurate description of Funchess' status.
"Devin had a good day today, he really did. Looking forward to seeing tomorrow how he looks as far as how he reacts to all the work he did," Rivera said. "We actually gave him a couple of opportunities, and he took them and looked really good. I'm optimistic about that."
Rookie cornerback Donte Jackson, who suffered a quad injury on the first play of the game versus the Seahawks and did not return, practiced in full for the second consecutive day and is expected to start. The second-round pick has started every game so far this season.
Rivera also revealed that safety Da'Norris Searcy, who was designated for return from IR earlier this week, will not be active against the Buccaneers.
"The biggest thing this week was to give him a chance to get his wind and everything and give us as coaches a chance to watch him," Rivera said. "He got some good reps this week. He looked good out there. We'll see how things go next week."
