The Hall of Famer was driving through Tuesday morning after his flight home from Canton was canceled, so he came to watch practice and talk to the team.

With Julius Peppers enshrined last weekend, it's time to look at the next generation of potential gold jacket recipients here. And there are options.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer placed his bust on the Gallery wall inside the Hall on Sunday morning, and reflected on his journey and how he wants to be remembered.

The Panthers legend thanked his family and friends and so many co-workers, but also encouraged young people to surround themselves with support, and support others. 

The talent was always there. But his road to the Pro Football Hall of Fame began in the cucumber and tobacco fields of Eastern North Carolina, where he learned what it meant to work.

The legends who gathered in Canton this weekend agreed: Peppers wasn't just dominant in his era, he could have played at any period in football history.

The event is for Hall of Famers only, and new inductees aren't allowed to talk, giving them a chance to hear and absorb the history of the game.

As the former Panthers defensive end prepares to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame, his teammates have come to realize all the amazing things he did every day were impossible for most mortals.

Charles Johnson spent the first three years of his NFL career in Julius Peppers' shadow, and the rest of his career chasing Peppers' stats. Both paid off. 

He was a man of few words, but his teammates followed him because of his actions. They were watching, and listening, closesly.

The Hall of Fame defensive end got a few chances as a receiver. It seemed like a great idea at the time, even though it never quite worked out. Those involved still can't understand why not.
