CHARLOTTE – The Panthers on Wednesday tripled their number of players on the Pro Bowl roster.
Kicker Graham Gano and right guard Trai Turner will join linebacker Luke Kuechly on the list of guys invited to the Jan. 28 game in Orlando. Gano and Turner were both first alternates. They'll replace Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein and Cowboys guard Zack Martin, who are both unable to participate due to injury.
Gano, who won a training camp battle against seventh-round pick Harrison Butker, will head to his first Pro Bowl. During the regular season, Gano led the league in touchback (85.4) and field goal (96.7) percentage while making all but one of his 30 field goal attempts.
It's the third consecutive Pro Bowl nod for Turner, who missed the final three games of the regular season with a concussion. But while he called 2017 “challenging,” it's clear his reputation around the league remains strong.
