CHARLOTTE – As Chuba Hubbard told his teammates ahead of kickoff in Week 10, "we came to win dog."
The setting might have looked different, the fans singing in a different language and the trip to get there extra-long, but the Carolina Panthers returned from Munich, Germany, with a win and stories to tell.
Thus, sets up a special edition of Blueprint.
The Panthers are giving fans an exclusive, in-depth, and extensive look at all that went into traveling across the Atlantic to face the New York Giants, the events and practices that took place in Munich, and finally a special mic'd up recap of the 20-17 win over the Giants.
The special episode of Blueprint begins back in May, when the Panthers first learned the date and opponent of their Munich game. Fans then go along the journey as linebackers Trevin Wallace and Josey Jewell learn a few German phrases ahead of their trip, the field crew prepares to make the journey ahead of time to paint the field and the club ties up a long-term contract for Chuba Hubbard before hopping on a plane.
In Munich, Blueprint takes fans along as Legends like Thomas Davis, Jonathan Stewart, and Steve Smith Sr. cheer on FC Bayern in their win against Benifica. As more guys like Luke Kuechly, Julius Peppers, and Jon Beason join, you can see the group open up the Munich pub hosting the Panthers, along with Dave Tepper, before taking to the stage for live podcasts in Old Town Munich.
Once the team arrives, fans get to watch behind the scenes footage of Friday's practice, which Dave Canales called the best Friday practice of the season, hosted by a mic'd up Chuba Hubbard. Saturday's recap includes the pregame team meeting and a trip to the market with Jewell and Wallace, where they test out their German.
Finally, Blueprint takes fans onto the sideline for the entirety of the 20-17 win over the Giants, from kickoff to the walk-off field goal overtime win. Robert Hunt is on the mic for this portion, bringing the energy of every pivotal moment in the win.
