Comments from Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox following the team's practice.
On injuries: No updates.
On if he expects linebacker Thomas Davis to play against Baltimore: It's too early. All of our injured guys are day-to-day. We got through today O.K. and we'll see what tomorrow brings.
On if it will be a setback if Davis doesn't play during the preseason: He's had a lot of reps here before. This is a new defense. I'd prefer guys being out there, but we'll have to make do if that does go that way but we're not there yet.
On if defensive end Julius Peppers is up to speed on the new defense despite missing the offseason: Yeah. Defensive end is not an overly scientific position. He came back in great shape; he's picked up very quickly to what we're doing. A lot of it's the same we've done in the past. So it's a matter of some different techniques, but other than that he's doing fine.
On if the first-team offense got into a rhythm against Miami: Our first quarterback only played a quarter of it, but I thought the first half was an improvement over the week before. I thought our first-team defense got better.
